I was trying to avoid bleaching my hair so I bought a blonde home dye kit (who shall not be named, because it was my fault for not reading warnings). At Least My Roots Went Blonde…
I attempted to Style it…
My hair had gone grey, like Richard fucking Gere GREY! but not just that, my roots had managed to go blonde and I had a lovely purple sheen. So yeah, I cried a bit, I called my hairdresser, I searched the web an I called in sick at work… Yes I am that vain.
After scouring the web for what felt like an eternity, only to find out that a) I’m a fucking idiot and b) It wasn’t an easy thing to fix and could be potentially expensive. I was getting ready to give up. It was at this point i stumbled upon an article saying that citrus acts as a natural stripping agent when applied to hair.
I NEED LEMONS… STAT!
Squeezed Like My Life Depended On It

I squeezed the juice of 6 lemons and mixed it with some leave in conditioner/hair mask (2 part lemon, 1 part conditioner) and after mixing it I pasted the mixture onto my head and left it on for between 2 and 3 hours… whilst praying to the hair fairies.
Low and behold it worked!!! My roots were still blonde and my hair was no longer grey/purple! I was just blonde again! 😀 All Praise the hair fairies and of course, well done lemons.

PLEASE learn from my mistake, always read the warnings e.g.. Ash tones don’t mix well with previously bleached hair 😉
